TLC
HOMEPAGE
The Transportation
for Livable Communities Project is a partnership of Sustainable
Pittsburgh and the Surface Transportation Policy Project serving
to advance transportation reform in southwestern Pennsylvania. TLC
is directing an alliance of non-profit, civic, business, and governmental
organizations to achieve this reform based upon the TEA-21 reauthorization
platform principles: Build Communities and Promote Choice; Learn
to Serve People; Require Accountability and Reward Performance;
and Fix It First.
Transportation
for Livable Communities has collaborated with these stakeholders
to prepare a Regional Policy Guidance
Document. The Document was submitted to respective government agencies
(Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission, etc.) for use in guiding
the region's public investments and planning at the county, region,
and state levels toward creating sustainable communities. The Document
is comprised of nine interrelated policy papers in areas such as
Transit Oriented Development and Land Use, Transportation Equity,
etc. The Document reflects many of the recommendations of the aforementioned
reports as well as those of other organizations with which Sustainable
Pittsburgh collaborates to steer Southwestern Pennsylvania a prosperous
future.
